BREAKING: the House Voted 228-190 To PASS the BOWOW Act, Which Allows for the Deportation of any Illegals Who Harms Law Enforcement Animals. 190 Democrats Voted AGAINST It

House Democratic leaders with a headline that the House voted 228-190 to pass the “BOWOW Act” to deport

undocumented immigrants who harm law-enforcement animals, and

 that 190 Democrats voted against. I can’t find a House-enacted

“BOWOW Act”; there is a measure named the Improving Policies

and Accountability for Treatment (or Protecting) Operations of

ç Working (Police) Dogs — the “PAWS Act” — passed narrowly in

ç July 2025 (219-185) to raise criminal penalties for knowingly

harming police animals. It does not include deportation for

undocumented immigrants; immigration enforcement is handled in

separate statutes. The 228–190 vote count and the deportation

ç language don’t match the official record, and the floor photo appears

to be from a 2021 speaker election. The card borrows a real,

sympathetic subject (harming police dogs) and adds a hardline

immigration hook and a party-vote tally to stir engagement. The

facts: Congress did pass a law increasing penalties for harming

police dogs; it did not attach an automatic deportation provision in

that bill, and the vote/brand/quip shown were edited for viral clarity.

Read it as partisan bricolage: real subject, inauthentic framing.

The House just passed the BOWOW Act with a strong 228-190 vote, making it clear: if a non-citizen harms one of our heroic law enforcement animals—those brave K9s and others who risk their lives alongside officers—they face deportation. No more excuses, no more staying here after such despicable acts.

These working animals serve on the front lines every day, detecting threats, saving lives, and protecting our borders and communities. When someone deliberately wounds or attacks them, it's not just animal cruelty—it's an assault on law enforcement itself. This bill ensures real consequences for illegal immigrants who show zero respect for that service.

It's common sense legislation that puts American safety and loyalty to our protectors first. Shame on the 190 Democrats who voted against it—prioritizing open borders over basic decency and the welfare of our four-legged heroes. Time to get this to the Senate and make it law.
